Crossfire Utility Services or just Crossfire is not just a catchy name. It was founded in Illinois in 2004 and is led by its President Gregory Karr with over 30 years of utility industry experience most recently with Nicor.
Furthermore, Crossfire is bonded and is a State certified advisor and broker for the purchase of electricity and natural gas. You can be comfortable with Crossfire as we've passed the State certification requirements every year since certification began in 2008. Furthermore our surety bond is added safety against any irregularities in our service.
And remember, with Crossfire as your broker you get the best prices supplied by the best companies in the industry... that's our job.
Crossfire specializes in brokering electricity and and/or natural gas (energy). But brokering is the least of our services. Our accompanying advisory services show you strategies to purchase energy reserved historically for the “big boys”.
Our overarching goal is to provide you with the lowest price, the best purchasing strategy from the financially strongest companies in the industry... which should provide savings as compared to your current situation or we will tell you: "No better alternative is available at this time."
As part of Crossfire's advisory services we ask for your cooperation in providing us the necessary information to achieve our goal of providing you the optimal price, contract term and energy supplier. (See "Quote" on navigation bar for details)
Quotes are provided to you with recommendations on price, contract term and energy supplier. If you accept, Crossfire will collaborate with the electricity supplier (ARES) to handle all the necessary paperwork to secure a contract ... involving you only when necessary. And Crossfire will always be there to answer questions that arise or other matters that develop to ensure all you do is attend to your home or business or both.
Price is not the sole determining factor in choosing an Alternative Retail Electric Supplier (certified by ICC as an ARES) or more simply as energy supplier, whether it be gas or electricity. At one time there were over 100 different companies selling energy in Illinois... each with their own spin on pricing. But many did not have the financial resources to protect you in case of a dramatic upward swing in prices and some literally reneged on their contracts.
Today, the number of energy companies in Illinois is around 70 due in large part to the State's certification program implemented in the early 2008.
Crossfire uses multiple criteria to evaluate a supplier. 1.) certification by ICC, 2.) bond to cover any performance liability or violation of any ICC rules and the most important criteria is 3.) company assets. Crossfire's criteria combined with a low price is a pure win-win.
Having a well-seasoned advisor is key to the success of any buying strategy. Otherwise you might as well be playing the "slot machines". Three simple techniques that Crossfire routinely uses are below.

Question: What if my electricity or gas supplier goes out of business will I lose service?
Answer: Never! The public utilities are the suppliers of "last resort". In the event of any outage due to an alternative energy supplier's non-performance the utility will ensure you continue to receive your energy needs. The energy supplier will not be allowed to continue its contract with you and may well be restricted from doing business in Illinois by ICC.
Question: How do I know if companies contacting me to switch energy supplier are reputable?
Answer: You don't know a firms reputation without researching the company. That's where Crossfire can lend a helping hand. Our over 30 years of experience with deregulation and the energy companies that participate gives Crossfire a unique vantage point to steer you and your business in the right direction... thus avoiding complications.
Question: How many bills will I receive?
Answer: You will receive a single energy bill(s).
